  1. I bought L Voag "The Way Out" as an album by The Homosexuals at Wax Trax in Chicago around or so, as I collected everything by the Homosexuals and It's War Boys collective. I've lost all the recordings, but am slowly regaining them thanks to you and a few others! "The Way Out" blew my mind. Punk was dissolute and New Wave was getting boring.

  5. “Way Out” is a sort of psych number, but with a New Zealand feel. Frye himself caught a wave from Virginia Beach to NYC back in and has stayed afloat there since. This album, his first vinyl, came out in on defunct VA label Shdwply.
  6. This album, as well as their first LP on Berserkley and a few subsequent bootlegs, makes a potent case for The Modern Lovers as having been potentially the most influential group of the s. Based in Boston, led by the adenoidal Jonathan Richman, The Modern .

  8. Tracks: on Side One + 1. 6. on Side Two Rough Mixes from Sloppy Sound Studios - Surrey. The first song on Side Two is sung by lovely 'Michelle' of Battersea. Love to the twins and L Voag for bass on Tracks 1. and 6. of Side Two and much inspiration on the rest. This album was cut at Pye Cutting Studios and consequently sounds terrible.
  9. Download card included. The first-time vinyl reissue of the solo debut from the Homosexuals bassist Jim Welton (a.k.a. L. Voag) includes a bonus 7-inch of the rare Move EP. The Way Out is recommended for fans of Desperate Bicycles, This Heat and Mark Perry. "The start of recording The Way Out crossed over with the last days of my involvement with the Homosexuals.
